I found out I was pregnant on Valentine’s Day and it was the best gift I ever received, I was so ecstatic at the time. I was 11 weeks and I was having morning sickness, fatigue, nausea, and more symptoms which is usually associated with the first trimester of pregnancy. The first trimester is usually when you will experience the most daunting symptoms during the entire pregnancy. The first trimester is also when you find out the sex of your baby; happily “I will be another BOY mom” all I could think about is holding him in my arms for the first time. Pregnancy, balancing family and building a salon is challenging but I found ways to cope with it. I love challenges because it makes me resilient, develop fortitude, grow as a mother and gain knowledge from every situation which makes me an empowered mother. A woman’s body go through a lot when preparing to bring a new born into the world, it can affect our physical, mental, social and emotional health. It’s very important to treat any health problems that you’re going through during your pregnancy because it can harm your growing baby. Women’s bodies are very unique, and when our bodies are transitioning into becoming a mother high levels of estrogen and progesterone contributes to pregnant women increased sensitivity and emotionality. Its very normal to have mood swings, anxiety, to be fearful, upset, irritated , and tearful with the first trimester of pregnancy. I felt all of the above when I was pregnant with my first child, My second pregnancy was easier than my first, having experienced it before I knew how to look after myself. My pregnancy now I have feelings of anxiety which is totally normal, My meal plans are going great, I crave weird things that I don’t normally eat like excessive cheese, and butter. I changed some of my eating habits in order to have a healthier pregnancy. Eating healthy is linked to good brain development, healthy birth weight, and can reduce the risk of many birth defects. When we have a growing human inside of us, we become weaker as our pregnancy progress because our baby need all the necessary nutrients they can get in order to develop efficiently. Eating healthy and taking your prenatal vitamins helps you meet your baby’s nutritional needs and keeps us healthy during pregnancy. I’m 6 months and I’m still in my second trimester and everything is going great and I feel like myself. I will be so excited during my 3rd trimester of pregnancy because I will be closer to meeting my son, however I have not picked a name yet but most likely we will stick with the letter M.
